| Has anyone considered creating a magics registry where both staff and members could post potions, spells, scrolls, etc. for use here? If you want to get some ideas for one, you're welcome to look over the Realms of Black Lake Magics IndexThere are also some listed in the RPGwords.org RPGlossary. Maybe make a forum for it, then put up a topic for different kinds of magics; Gesture Spells, Touch Spells, Spoken Spells, Thought Spells, Scrolls, Curses, Potions, Incantations, Blessed Items, Cursed Items, etc. People could submit magics to whatever topic fits it best, then someone could look them over and tell whether or not they're approved, or maybe need some work, like you do with the characters. DP said I could use her DnD Fantastic Treasures and her other DnD books to help, when I have time.

| Good thinking Aciil, I think that would be very helpful and an interesting addition to this site. What do the rest of you think? |

| I think that's a wonderful idea. It would certainly give us a central repository to draw information from when we are writing spells that include spell casting and the like.
Would you be willing to do that for us, JD? We're always open to foilks making things easier for us and we are strong believers in self empowerment. _________________ Eagles may soar in the clouds, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.

| Hmmmm... that does sound like an interesting idea. I believe it should then have its own forum since it would be a 'site resource' useful for all forums.
I believe we could put it in Niflheim
It could possess such topics as:
Magic Registry (or Grimoire, what ever floats yer boat) Bestiary (for accumulated critters)
and any others that may develop. _________________ |

| So if you look in Niflheim, you will find a forum called Compendium. This forum can be used to compile data for easy reference that we can refer to in our stories. _________________ |

| Well, there you go, JD.
Have at it! It doesn't have to be fancy, just functional. _________________ Eagles may soar in the clouds, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.

| I also made JD a moderator of it. There, you can jump right in and you have the ability to modify things if you make a mistake. _________________ |

| Well, I can't be in every day. So, if that's okay with everyone, I'll give it a shot. Other places you can reach me are at hof, and rpgworlds. I go by JD at both, so I'm not hard to find. There are probably at least a few here who know how to get a hold of me at those places.
Now if everyone will pardon me for a while. I've got a bad tempered, axe wielding dwarf stuck in a dark passageway in the seedier part of a city, and two casters to deal with, one of them wounded and about to head for some underground ruins with his friends.
I'll work on some stuff later tonight, and see about getting a few up either tonight or tomorrow.
And remember....Never tell a thief you're not broke, or you might be! lol |

| I think I know that Dwarf. No worries, about the attendance. The Compendium, can be built at your leisure and once we have a structure in place I am sure others will contribute. _________________ |

| If someone wants anything from a particular book I have a multitude of books to draw from spells DnD, Earthdawn, Palladium and probably a couple others. |

| Sounds familiar serredeth. Since my niece moved out and got married, we've got an extra room here. My sister is slowly turning it into a combination indoor garden, sewing and craft room, and gaming room for rpg sessions. She bought a wood cabinet, looks antique. It stands 6ft tall, 2ft deep, and 4ft wide. She's stocking it to be a DM supply cabinet for gaming sessions. She's stocking it with books, different dice sets, little scrolls, potion bottles, and all kinds of stuff. She's even drawing maps we can roll out and tack down to the table during our games. I'm looking forward to seeing it all together when she's done. |

| Is this magic forum going to be something that we have to go by when casting spells? I am hoping that it won't be the case, but more of a guideline to help us. I do think that if anyone does put their own spells in there to be used by others, it should be made clear that said spell cannot be changed when in use by another player. Make sense? _________________ Judge not nor fear that or those which you do not understand, for it or they may be someone or something that will aid you in the trials of your life.

| To my understanding it is more of an encyclopedia that we use as a reference and find common ground when required. The structure of Bifrost Bridge varies in accordance with the stories, so it is not possible to develop common laws to govern them. Such rules stifle the imagination, but at times it is nice to have a reference to a certain monster or spell if it something that we would like to etch in stone for the course of a particular story. _________________ |
