| Just to set the stage, I thought I would put up my old little self-introduction from ye bygone worlds across the cyber ocean:
Hello Friends,
Hope to get into some stories and scrapes with you all.
I started out playin' good ol' D&D in the early 90s (strictly tabletop, dice, graph paper all that jazz). Played with a couple groups, got into a couple other systems briefly, but kind of pittered out on it all when I went off to college.
That's not enitirely true. I continued to RP a mostly D&D style series of campaigns (D&D system, essentially, but not always fantasy settings) with my longest-lasting group of RPer buddies, but with very loose rules. Pretty much the GM carried the burden of stimulating the story and providing conflict, and we used d20s to check stats and hit rolls when needed. We weren't so interested in dungeon crawls anymore but rather in character and plot development.
That's where I am today. Haven't done much RPing that wasnt live and face-to-face, but I don't have a lot of free time for those hours-long sessions anymore, and thought this might be a good option. I write a lot and have a passion for stories. I was drawn to this site by what appears to be an emphasis on storytelling and good writing, as well as the availabilitiy of free-form scenarios that still possess an element of moderation that one would hope could keep the stories progressing. I hope to find some kindred spirits here and maybe start a few new stories--I particularly like those in which your character's stats etc. (and how much XP or GP you get) aren't nearly as important as simply playing a believable and interesting person.
Lets get cooking! |

| Hello all, I was turned on to this forum by my good friend from the game Oberin, Tiphereth. He told me to check this forum out and I am very interested in how this will all play out because I am quite big on telling stories. I am 16 years old, but Tiphereth tells me I carry myself well so I hope to fit in as well as I can. Please feel free to correct me on any mistakes I might make while writing, I am still fairly new but I enjoy a good story. |

| Good evening Hania Ravenheart, I am Lac'Nal, a Veteran ( Moderator ) here. I must ask you to refer to Rule I of this forum "INTRODUCTION
While this forum is comparatively open and designed to encourage creativity, welcoming of all who wish to try their hand at collaborative storytelling-gaming, there are a few cardinal rules designed to protect the integrity of the stories here and promote respect among writer-players.
I. GOOD TASTE
The only parties excluded from joining and writing in this forum are minors. All participants must be 18 years or older due to content that may be explicit. Specifically, writers are allowed to give characters dialogue that includes curses or other colorful language, when appropriate.
Even so, the tone that has already been established in a story should be followed, and excessively crude language will probably get on everyone’s nerves. Furthermore, this is not an erotic writing site. While sexual content may appear in stories, we ask that writers portray such moments not with pornographic blatancy but with subtlety and suggestion that leaves us marveling at what good taste you have.
In line with the concept of good taste, it should go without saying that Respect is cardinal to everything we treasure at the Bridge, and there is no tolerance for personal attacks on other writers or harassment of any kind. While characters may be cruel and narrow-minded as the day is long, we writers must never be. You have been warned."
This forum is limited to those 18 Years and older. Therefore I must respectfully ask you to leave. Perhaps you would care to return after your eighteenth birthday. Thank you for respecting our rules and be safe out there in cyberland.

| Too bad, Hania is such a good writer. I was sure he was 18. It's hard to judge online. I am glad he was honest though.
We used to 'hunt' together through the fields of Oberin. |

| I am sorry to have had to ask him to leave. And yes it is good that he was honest. Perhaps we need a method os screening applicants, for age. It seems to me that Oskar had something to do with age in his application for membership procedure. I can not remember what it was though. Perhaps someone else does. Lac |

| I went over to the 9' and clicked registration this is what came up | Quote: | To continue with the registration procedure please tell us when you were born.
Before 27 Apr 1996 :: On or after 27 Apr 1996 |
So perhaps we need to impliment that procedure. Thoughts? |

| Hello Hania,
I'm afraid Lac'Nala is correct in this. Due to the reasons pointed out in the rules, we simply can't allow minors join the site.
I appreciate your honesty with all of us and trust me when I say you will go far in this world. Honesty and integrety are key to being successful and if you keep the honesty rooted within you you have shown us here, there is nothing you will not be able to do.
I invite you to re-register when you reach 18 for I'm sure we'll still be here, writing away. In the meantime, you are more than welcomed to read our adventures as we write them for browsing the site as a guest is not against the rules.
Take care and hope to see you again, RPMistress |

| Oh my! What a lovely young group we have here.
I think I just may stay for a while. Nice and comfy and lots of little ones who need some matronly presence. Yes, yes....I think this will be a wonderful place for me to nest.
Just go about your daily routines, dearies. I'm just here to watch and make sure everyone plays nice together.
I do so love the sound of children. |

| Hello! Hello!
I'm known around the site as RPMistress, RPM, Mistress or Deb. I've been called a lot worse, but I'll answer to just about anything (except late for supper).
Anywho....
I started RPing about 15 years ago in live chat rooms to pass the down time at work. I never played any sort of RP board games as I found the rules WAY too complicated for my pea brain. What I DID discover is that I thoroughly enjoyed writing with other people. Once I got hooked, I knew I would always be looking for others to share in my love of writing and RPing at the same time. It took some doing, but I found what I was looking for with these wonderfully talented folks.
What I like best about this sort of relaxed setting is that you can write very lengthy, detailed posts and no one complains about it. In fact, we LOVE long, detailed posts. You also don't have to worry about time constraints. Or a bunch of OOC banter coming across your screen and possibly missing a post from your writing partner.
I enjoy the constructive criticism the other writers give here as well. While we all know it's one of those necessary evils, we DO learn from that and become much better writers for it. And this group of folks are fantastic. They don't bash you over the head. They point out your strengths and weaknesses while giving advice at the same time.
So pull up a chair and relax for a spell as you read through some of the stories we've been weaving. I think you'll like what you see if you are of the same mind set the rest of us are. Remember, there is no such thing as bad writers. There are only those who haven't yet honed their skills. It just takes the right guidence to help them be the best they can be.
Write on, my friend. Write on. ____________________________________________________________________________________ No chain, no lock, this train won't stop.

| Hello, I am Shape, a close friend of Lac's. He and I have been friends for more years than we both like to count. Lac and I were together on the9worlds, GCN, Yahoo and numerous other RP sites. My character is one more of actions than speach, more true animalistic if you will. I am sure most of you are aware of that. Thank you for allowing me to join you. |
